TEAM MEMBERS

SETH A.

Seth is a 17-year-old 12th grader at Northeastern Clinton. He enjoys the programming aspect of robotics and believes what he has learned about gracious professionalism will have a positive impact his career When he is not working on robots, Seth works three days a week to earn his spending money and save for college. He hopes to attend Clarkson next year.

MAXENCE G. 

Maxence is a 14-year-old freshman who is currently attending Plattsburgh High School. He participates in robotics to get a better knowledge of programming, meet new people and enjoys the problem-solving aspect. He is currently on the varsity track and field, JV baseball and JV football teams.

VICTOIRE G.

Victoire is a 13-year-old 8th grader who attends Stafford Middle School. She participates in robotics because she enjoys building and team projects. As hobbies she enjoys art, building, drawing, skiing, and reading. This year Victoire is on the Stafford middle school modified swim team.

OLIVIA K.

Olivia is a 17-year-old 11th grader who attends Plattsburgh High School. She participates in robotics because she enjoys problem solving. She does a wide range of activities, including multiple different types of dance, theatre, varsity swim, and Science Olympiad.

GARETH M.

Gareth is a 17-year-old 12th grader at Plattsburgh High School. He enjoys programming, playing trombone, piano, and running on the school’s track team. His favorite subject is physics. He competes on Plattsburgh’s Science Olympiad team, which got him interested in building and robotics.

KAITLYN N. 

Kaitlyn is a 14-year-old homeschooled 8th grader. She enjoys ice skating, downhill skiing, playing the mandolin, and theater. She was on a FLL team for four years before participating in FTC. She enjoys robotics because she likes to build and think of ways to solve problems.

CHRISTOPHER N.

Christopher is a 17-year-old homeschooled 11th grader who is passionate about cooking delicious cuisines. He enjoys playing soccer, the acoustic guitar, participating in the theater, and downhill skiing. He does robotics because he likes working as part of a team and enjoys mechanical engineering.

ADAM P. 

Adam is a 15-year-old 10th grader who attends Plattsburgh High School. He enjoys swimming, skiing, and playing soccer. He swims on both the Lake Champlain Waves and the PHS swim teams. He does robotics because it prepares him for participating in similar fields in the future.

ANNA P.

Anna is a 13-year-old 8th grader who attends Seton Catholic Central School. She enjoys skiing, swimming, hiking, writing, and reading Harry Potter books. She has been skiing for a long time, which she particularly enjoys because of the friends she has made. The reason she joined the robotics team is because it is interesting and she likes to build things.

GRACE S.

Grace is a 17-year-old homeschooled 12th grader. This is her seventh year being involved with robotics. She enjoys spending her time practicing the flute, guitar, and piano. She performs the flute and piano with the Adirondack Youth Orchestra. She likes showing sheep and poultry, and competing in the National 4-H Poultry Conference.

GIDEON S.

Gideon is a 14-year-old homeschooled 8th grader. He enjoys playing the electric bass and acoustic guitar. Gideon’s hobbies include playing soccer, baseball, downhill skiing, and model railroading. His favorite subject is science. He is the co-author of the blog North Country Trains.

MIRIAM S. 

Miriam is a 12-year-old homeschooled 7th grader. This is her first year on a FTC team. However, she was on a FLL team for three years. She enjoys downhill skiing, swimming, and horseback riding. She enjoys robotics because she likes building.

HARRISON S.

Harrison is a 14-year-old homeschooled 8th grader. His hobbies include model railroading, railfanning, and railroad history. He also plays guitar, banjo, mandolin. He is the editor and co-author of the blog North Country Trains. Harrison enjoys both the building and the programming aspect of robotics.

GRANT W. 

Grant is a 15-year old 10th grader at AuSable Valley Central School. At AuSable Valley he is a member of the varsity cross country team, varsity golf team, band, Spanish club, Math League, Treasurer of his school’s Key Club, and is a Life Scout and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader in his Scouts BSA Troop. In his free time, he enjoys downhill skiing, mountain biking, and is an “Adirondack 46er”.

RICKY W.

Ricky is a 16-year old 12th grader at AuSable Valley Central School. At AuSable Valley he is a member of the varsity cross country team, varsity golf team, jazz band, French club, Math League, serves as the Treasurer of the school’s Model UN club, and is the Senior Patrol Leader of his Scouts BSA Troop. In his free time, he enjoys coding, downhill skiing, and is an “Adirondack 46er”.

FRANK D.

Frank is one of the team coaches with an engineering and programming background. He enjoys passing along experiences and working with the best and brightest represented by the Team Beta members. Seeing the new challenges that come up during the season gives him an opportunity to continue to learn new things from the team members and do research.

JIM K. 

Jim is another team mentor. He does robotics because he enjoys working with kids, programming and being involved with his daughter's activities. He likes hiking, skiing, math, computer programming and playing the guitar. He built a ¼ kilo-pixel digital camera in 1984.

TOM M. 

Tom is the assistant coach. He is a retired Computer Science Professor from Clinton Community College and SUNY- Plattsburgh. Prior to that he served in the US Air Force as a Navigator, Bombardier, Combat Plans Officer, and Computer Staff officer.

TAMMY N. 

Tammy is one of the team coaches and enjoys helping with FTC robotics in her spare time, particularly since her children love it! Her family has been involved with Team Beta for 6 years in conjunction with Clinton County 4-H. She is very thankful for her husband Brian’s support especially since design, building, and programming of FTC robotics is certainly completely outside her area of expertise. She is excited to have the help of so many dedicated mentors and parents to help our program thrive. While she is not working or playing around with robots, Tammy enjoys learning with her children, reading, and playing on her IPad.

JUSTIN B. 

Justin Bokus is a sophomore in college studying computer science and network/computer security at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. He carries on his love for FIRST by mentoring different FTC and FRC teams and volunteering as an FTA and referee at different FIRST events.

NICK D.

Nick is one of our alumni mentors. He is a mechanical engineering student at Clarkson University in Potsdam NY. At college he is a designer on the Mini Baja SAE team, the Secretary of the tennis club, and a founding member of the bowling team. He makes weekend trips home to help the team and attend the competitions. He continues to do robotics to give back to the team that inspired him to be an engineer.

BRADLEY N.

Bradley is a freshman at Clarkson University, majoring in software engineering. Currently, he is living on the FIRST floor and enjoys helping FLL and FTC teams through their call center. In addition, when he is home he enjoys mentoring and checking out what the team is up to. He is thankful for his experiences in FIRST and looks forward to volunteering this year at different competitions.

LIAM S.

Liam is a 19-year-old college student at Clinton Community College who likes soccer, being a lifeguard and teaching how to solve engineering problems. Since moving back to area, he enjoys bringing his siblings to meetings and helping mentor his old team. His expertise helps our team work through different iterations and continue to improve our robot throughout the season.
